The arrest in absentia of Khodorkovsky on the case of murder met with a “selective approach” of Interpol. The website Prigovor.ru reminds its readers of what happened on December 23, 2015.
On this day 8 years ago, on December 23, 2015, the Court, having considered a request of the Department of especially important cases of the Investigation Committee of Russia, selected in absentia a measure of restriction concerning Mikhail Khodorkovsky in the form of remand in custody. The arrest of the defendant was in absentia, as Khodorkovsky has categorically not wanted to establish contact with the investigation that intends to clarify his role in the crimes for which Alexey Pichugin, the former employee of the Oil company Yukos security service, has been serving a life sentence, and Leonid Nevzlin, one of the “main shareholders” of the company, who, hiding in Israel, has been waiting for years to serve a life sentence.

On the eve of the Court’s session to choose a measure of restriction for Khodorkovsky, the Investigation Committee officially issued a decree to involve Mikhail Khodorkovsky as a defendant of the criminal case connected with orchestrating a series of murders and attempted murders, committed in the interest of the oil company Yukos.
“According to the investigation, Khodorkovsky, being shareholder and president of the Board of the oil company Yukos, in 1998-1999 commissioned to the subordinated to him employees of the company Nevzlin and Pichugin, as well as to other persons, the killing of the mayor of the town Nefteyugansk Vladimir Petukhov and entrepreneur Yevgeny Rybin, whose official activities contradicted the interests of Yukos”, pointed out the Investigation Committee in its statement.
The agency said, "these crimes were committed with interested motives". "It was decided to organize the murder of Petukhov in connection with his lawful demands as mayor of Nefteyugansk towards the Oil Company Yukos concerning the refund of the hidden state taxes. The attempted murder on the entrepreneur Yevgeny Rybin was connected with the initiated by him claims on Yukos with regard to cost recovery of damage, inflicted by the illegal activity of this oil company”, pointed out the Investigation Committee, stressing that “applying a measure of restraint after delivery a ruling on involving as a defendant is a standard procedure”. A representative of the Investigation Committee also reminded about the principle of inevitability of punishment” for persons convicted of committing “extremely grievous crimes, such as murder and attempted murder”.
MURDER AS A GIFT
“The murder in Nefteyugansk was committed on June 26, 1998 – Vladimir Petukhov was killed by a salvo of assault rifles, and his bodyguard Vyacheslav Kokoshkin was seriously wounded. There had been attempted murders on Yevgeny Rybin, managing director of the company “East Petroleum Handelsgaz GmbH" – on November 24, 1998, and on March 5, 1999. First, he was fired at by a submachine-gun when he, after negotiations, came out of the house belonging to one of the top managers of Yukos, and in the second instance, the car was blown, in which he planned to be driven. At the same time, one of his bodyguards was killed, and another two were wounded," reminded the newspaper “Kommersant”. Apart from that, it is known that the murder of the mayor of Nefteyugansk Vladimir Petukhov was committed on Khodorkovsky’s birthday. For the “killing as a birthday present," the contract killers got a “prize”, in honor of the birthday of one of the masterminds.
After the arrest in absentia of Khodorkovsky, a corresponding request from Russia to Interpol was sent. However, Interpol that previously had repeatedly declared that this police agency was out of politics and simply did its work, refused to support Russia in finding the fugitive criminals saying that it considered the criminal prosecution of this person a "political one". In spite of the fact that the ECtHR didn’t find a political component in the Yukos case.
“A FORBIDDEN ARTICLE OF A STATUTE”
A couple of months later, Interpol didn’t let down the fugitive Khodorkovsky and refused to support Russia, having found “politics” in this murder case.
Interpol, naturally, refers to Article 5 of the Statute of this organization, which forbids the international police to take part in persecution of any persons "on political or religious reasons". Such wording one can often see in the press covering events connected with Interpol. Yet the Stature itself, so it seems, only a few have read. We open it, and there is nothing about "prohibition to take part in prosecution". Article 3 reads: “The Organization categorically forbids carrying out any interference or activity of political, military, religious or racial character”.
And with this Statute prohibition, Interpol justifies its refusal to carry out crime detections, including search of Khodorkovsky, a defendant of the case on murder and attempted murder. Thereat, it is known that, with his dubious money, he had simply bought, and other had bought for him, political services of various persons and organizations, which, in their turn, had been busy, as mentioned in their reports, with "informing the international public", to be more precise, with brainwashing of this public, including the political establishment of the United States and Europe.

FUGITIVE SWINDLERS AND MURDERERS WITH MONEY
“Or, one can suppose, “the political” component in the refusals is inherent to the fugitive “friends of the United States”, and Khodorkovsky become one of them, after having bought for himself a bunch of American politicians. These purchased politicians later became leaders of the United States. The USA, by the way, is one of the main donors of the "Interpol Foundation for a Safer World", and to this foundation carry their donations states, willing to provide help to the international police organization in its fight against international bandits and terrorists. The latter, by the way, the “forbidding” Article 3 of the Statute of Interpol doesn’t impede to catch. And this is good, as it relates to the security of thousands of people. Although some “human rights organizations” qualify terrorists nearly in the same way as fugitive oligarchs – as “political fugitives”- such an approach, evidently, affects only a few. The same can't be said about the contrived "political motives" in the case of Leonid Nevzlin, the mastermind of murders in Yukos interests, and Mikhail Khodorkovsky, accused of contracting murders”, notes the website Prigovor.ru.
