Pichugin organized at the direction of Nevzlin murders of 5 persons and attempted murders on 7 persons

In Moscow, a life-long sentence was passed on Alexey Pichugin. The father of Mikhail Khodorkovsky was summoned for questioning with regard to the murder of the mayor of Nefteyugansk. The website Prigovor.ru reminds us of what happened on August 6, 2007, and 2015.

On this day, August 6, 2007, 16 years ago, The Moscow City Court sentenced to a life-long imprisonment Alexey Pichugin, a former employee of the Yukos security service. The Court adjudged Pichugin guilty of organizing murders and attempted murders. The Court ascertained that Pichugin, acting in the interests of Yukos and at the direction of Nevzlin organized murders of five persons and attempted murders on seven persons.’ ‘The guilt of the defendant is proved by the materials of the criminal case and by the evidence of witnesses,’ pointed out the verdict.

As the Court found out, defendant Pichugin had organized the murder of Vladimir Petukhov, mayor of Nefteyugansk. 'The motive of this crime was the fact that Petukhov took active actions, directed at collecting hidden taxes which contradicted Yukos interests.’

The Court found that defendant Pichugin had organized the murder of the entrepreneur Valentina Korneeva while she had refused to sell to the bank ‘Menatep’ a trading space.

The Court considered fully proven the charge according to which Pichugin twice organized attempted murders on the entrepreneur Yevgenyi Rybin who had initiated several court cases against the management of the Oil Company Yukos. Having studied the materials of this case, 'the Court comes to the conclusion that Pichugin represents an exceptional danger to the society and because of that inflict him a penalty in the form of life imprisonment,' pointed out Judge Petr Shtunder who read out the verdict.

‘The verdict is absolutely fair, and the punishment is commensurable to the actions of Pichugin who on the totality of two verdicts organized the murder of five persons and attempted murders on seven persons,’ stressed the prosecutorial agent. Pichugin’s counsels appealed against this verdict, but the Penal Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation having studied the claims of the Defense upheld the life imprisonment for Pichugin.

As the result, Pichugin has been jailed for life:

- for organizing the murder of Vladimir Petukhov, the mayor of Nefteyugansk, who thrown himself in the way of Yukos;

- for organizing of the murder of his helpers from Tambov – Sergei Gorin and Olga Gorin, his spouse, who became uncomfortable witnesses for him;

- for organizing the murder of the entrepreneur Valentina Koreneva, who didn’t want to sell to Khodorkovsky and Nevzlin a tading space they took a liking to;

- for organizing the murder of the driver of the Austrian oil company Yengenyi Rybin, who was murdered by killers during one of the attacks on him;

- for organizing of the assault on Serguei Kolesov, chief of the administration of the CJSC ‘Rosprom’;

So from this bloodstained person nowadays a ‘political prisoner’ is being made.

‘The role of the mastermind of that murder must have been played directly by the dead of the Yukos Mikhail Khodorkovsky’

8 years ago, on August 6, 2015, Boris Khodorkovsky, father of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, was invited to the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation as a witness. It was meant that the interrogation would be carried out within the framework of the court case with regard to the murder of the mayor of Nefteyugansk. ‘In the subpoena, the same number of the case was indicated and the same name of the investigator that in the case pertaining to the murder of Vladimir Petukhov, mayor of the town Nefteyugansk,’ said the counsel of the father of Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

On the eve of that Vladimir Markin, spokesman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said that the Investigative Committee reopened the inquiry in the murder of the mayor of Nefteyugansk which was carried out in 1998. ‘Within the investigation of this case investigative actions are planned directed to exposure of persons who were art and part of this and a number of other grievous crimes, including interrogations of witnesses among whom, most probably, there will be also Khodorkovsky,’ said Markin at that time and pointed out that the investigation of the criminal case with regard to the murder of Petukhov in 1998 was reopened ‘in connection with newly discovered circumstances.’

‘According to the operative information, which is now at the disposal of the Investigative Committee, the role of the mastermind of this and a number of other grievous murders may have been played directly by Mikhail Khodorkovsky, head of Yukos,‘ summarized the spokesman of the Investigation Committee (See also: https://sledcom.ru//news/item/941985/).

Boris Khodorkovsky was one of the first persons from whom the investigation decided to clarify questions of interest for the Investigative Committee. The general points of the conversation without any details were given after the end of the visit of Boris Khodorkovsky to the investigator by his lawyer Serguei Badamshin. ‘The interrogation went in the correct form. There were questions related to the investigation of the murder of Petukhov, but, as to the main part of the questions, Boris Khodorkovsky took hold of Article 51 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation,’ said the lawyer. This article of the Constitution gives the right not to witness against oneself and one’s closest relatives, so the father of the fugitive billionaire used this opportunity.

'Khodorkovsky promised to talk to his son and to call Gorin’

By the way, in the materials of the Pichugin criminal case, in the part of it related to the murder of the Gorin couple, there is the evidence of the citizen Smirnov who said that Serguei Gorin (one of the accomplices of Pichugin crimes) on the eve of his death paid a visit to the father of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, where Serguei Gorin and Boris Khodorkovsky talked during one and a half hours. According to the witness, the subject of the conversation was crimes committed by Yukos with the participation of Gorin.

But all the procedural subterfuges of the father of Khodorkovsky, to all appearances, didn’t help. Before long, a decree was issued to him to respond as a defendant under Article 33, paragraph 3, subparagraphs 'а, б, е, ж and з’, Article 105, paragraph 2, Article 30, paragraph 3, Article 33, paragraphs ‘а, б, е, ж and з’, Article 105, paragraph 2 (organization of murder and attempted murder on two and more persons).

Khodorkovsky was arrested in absentia and was put on an international wanted list.

‘Now Khodorkovsky sits in London and waits in fear the moment when Pichugin starts to speak,’ points out the website Prigovor.ru.
