Confession of the swindler: “I am no longer an industrialist, no longer an entrepreneur”. Khodorkovsky is himself the creator of his own “happiness”. The website Prigovor.ru reminds its readers of what happened on November 16, 2005.
On this day, on November 16, 2005, took place a session of the bureau of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP). There were three questions on the agenda. First, about the work of the united Commission on solving corporative disputes and business ethics. Second, about the creation of the Committee on Charity. And, at last, the section “Miscellaneous”, where, actually, was included Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s request to withdraw him from the composition of the ruling panel of the RSPP.
CONFESSION OF THE “BOREHOLE” SWINDLER
“I am no longer an industrialist, no longer an entrepreneur, I am not going to manage any commercial enterprises, from now on I will exclusively deal with social-political activity; by virtue of the circumstances, which are well known to you, it will not be possible for me to help the RSPP to solve its problems from the organizational or financial point of views", informed the tax criminal the Board of Directors of the RSPP, where he, before the verdict came into effect, had been taken up the position of the leader of the Committee on International Cooperation of the RSPP. Apart from that, Khodorkovsky expressed gratitude to “all members of the RSPP, who had supported him during the last two years and had not excluded him from the Bureau of the Board, despite the understandable circumstances”.
“His statement about the withdrawal from the composition of the Bureau of the RSPP Board Mikhail Khodorkovsky passed through Arkady Volsky, the honorary president of the RSPP. According to him, the former Yukos leader had long ago handed over his request to be withdrawn from the Bureau. But it was impossible to satisfy the request without his personal statement”, explained the situation the newspaper “Kommersant”.
"NOBODY WILL EXPOSE HIMSELF”
In general, the situation “Khodorkovsky and the RSPP” developed in a rather interesting way. In summer 2003, after the arrest of Platon Lebedev, the RSPP nearly broke down – nobody, in fact, wanted to get through to the barricades.
“The mood in the business community members of the RSPP’s Bureau described with the words of their colleague Kakhi Bendukidze, the head of “The United Machine-Building Plants”, who liked to repeat: “We are all liberals when it doesn't come to ourselves". Nobody wants to expose himself. "Maximum for us is to write a petition to the Office of the Prosecutor General with a request to change the level of restrictions for Platon Lebedev”, told in the interview with the newspaper “Gazeta” not the most fearful captain of the Russian business”.
After the arrest of Khodorkovsky, the press was perplexed and melancholy describing how the business community completely doesn’t want to meddle in the situation “around Yukos”. Many of them understood that Khodorkovsky himself was the creator of the "happiness" battered on him. Others made alarmist forecasts, and, having been completely unable to make head or tail of the affair, cried that “with the arrest of Khodorkovsky the law was broken” and didn’t bother to look into the law.
“It’s fact that, on the day of Khodorkovsky’s arrest, it was not possible to get a single commentary for the record (as well as off the record) from the part of any businessmen – neither before the decision of the arrest, nor after that”, pointed out Natalya Gevorkyan and Konstantin Smirnov, the reports of the newspaper “Kommersant”.
However, they would not at once, in 2003, try to take away from Khodorkovsky the “party-card” of the RSPP – a compromised formula worked that it was necessary to wait until the investigation was over and until the verdict of the court was adjudged, and that is why Khodorkovsky continued to be “industrialist and entrepreneur” until 2005.
YUKOS CRIMINALS ON WASHINGTON’S SERVICE
As a matter of fact, everybody understood that Khodorkovsky “went in the wrong direction”, and not only with his insolent offshore schemes and borehole liquid, but he banally was breaking the agreement on "equidistance", presenting all his colleagues in the trade as people who were not capable to keep agreements.
But there is also an interesting thing – on the day of Khodorkovsky's arrest in Moscow accidentally were hanging around representatives of the research institute "Rand Corporation" (USA), who came to communicate with the Russian business", noted the website Prigovor.ru.
As to what kind of advice the researchers of “Rand Corporation" give, working for the American government, becomes clear even with the help of this heading: "RAND Corporation": maul Russia and bring it out of balance”.
