The tax swindler from London calls people on the barricades. The website Prigovor.ru reminds its readers of what happened on September 18, 2016.
Seven years ago, on this September day, 2016, the twice accused criminal Mikhail Borisovich Khodorkovsky, put on the wanted list on the charge of implication in the murder of Vladimir Petukhov, the mayor of the town Nefteyugansk, was summarizing the results of the 2016 elections to the State Duma of Russia. The fugitive oligarch was absorbed with grief – the systematic preparation for the campaign, financial injections into the “Khodorkovsky’s column” as well as the support of this project by the Western countries turned out to be ineffective. Mikhail Borisovich, looking at the preliminary results, put on his usual record.
Failure worth 100 million
“The main conclusion”, pointed out Khodorkovsky, “can be formulated as follows - there are only two ways for dialogue with authorities – in elections or on barricades. A genuine citizen, a genuine patriot of his country should choose between these two possibilities”, underlined Khodorkovsky, trying somehow to justify the total failure of his protégés, in the whole country, at that, and, furthermore, he spent on this project 100 million rubles.
The lie in the words of Khodorkovsky about this “rubber-stamped elections” was obvious. The whole group of the opposition activists domesticated by the West took part in these elections quite calmly. And, for members of those groups of voters who wanted to cast their vote in favor of alternative candidates, the choice was as on a fair – there were such parties as “Parnas” of Kasyanov, “Yuabloko", as well as simply candidates in single-member constituencies. But, the voters, judging from the results, didn’t share their positions and plans – they preferred other, more coherent, from their point of view, candidates.
Nevertheless, as in any contested elections, members of the opposition demonstrated their electoral potential – from 2 to 12 percent, on average. And, such an “obscenely little” result is not “elections without choice”, but the reflection of the public mood, which in September 2016 openly and quite democratically showed that it didn’t want to see in Parliament those, who had in their heads sheer barricades.
By the way, on the eve of the current elections to the State Duma, Mikhail Khodorkovsky continued to put on his scratched record. There is what he said in the conversation with Alexey Venedikvov on the radio station “Ekho Moskvy” on September 13, 2021:
"This is not despondency. I simply think that this political action is not elections. And, as of today, I am consequential in that. I.e., time after time elections morphed into non-elections. And this time they turned into it. Period! It’s the end of this story. Next time people will actually vote after they will have proved their right on barricades. It can’t be helped”.
