On this day, Khodorkovsky made payments for terrorists

The money of Khodorkovsky for the member of “The Right Sector” and arsonist Oleg Sentsov. The website Prigovor.ru reminds its readers of what happened on August 31, 2015.

On this day, on August 31, 2015, the Khodorkovsky's foundation "Open Russia" announced the names of 22 persons whom a one-time material help was allocated to the tune of 100 thousand rubles. Among the receivers of the Khodorkovsky’s “gingerbread” turned out to be those accused by the court of the Russian Federation for crimes of a terrorist nature – Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko. As many remember, the mentioned persons are members of the subversive and terrorist squad of the organization "The Right Sector" who were neutralized in the spring of 2014 in Crimea by members of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation. ("The Right Sector" is an extremist organization that is prohibited in Russia).

At the instigation of the "progressive liberal community", the arsonist, member of "The right Sector" and mediocre film director Sentsov has become a “prisoner of consciousness”.

Oleg Sentsov (“Film director”) was accused under Article 205.4, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation (organization of a terrorist group and participation in it), under Article 205, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (commission of a terror act), under Article 30, paragraph 1 of the CCRF, under 205, paragraph 2 of the CCRF (preparation for a terrorist act), under Article 30, paragraph 3 of the CCRF, under Article 22, paragraph 3 of the CCRF (attempt at illegal acquirement of explosives) and under Article 222, paragraph 3 of the CCRF (Illegal Acquisitions of Explosives).

On August 25, 2015, the North-Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don adjudged Sentsov guilty of creating a terrorist group and of leading it, of two terrorist actions and preparation of another one, of an attempt to acquire explosive devices and of illegal storage of firearms and ammunition by an organized group. On the totality of the crimes, Sentson was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in a strict regime colony.

The second defendant of this criminal case - Alexander Kolchenko, also a nominee to become money from Khodorkovsky – was adjudged guilty of participating in a terrorist group and complicity in a terrorist act. On the totality of the crimes, Kolchenko was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in a corrective strict regime colony.

In November 2015 the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of Russia upheld the sentences of the Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko who received, respectively, 20 years and 10 years of incarceration for the terrorist acts committed in Crimea. To put it simply, their terrorist activity was de-jure proven and confirmed by the court decisions.

The purposeful nature of Khodorkovsky’s actions pertaining to financing the radicals is confirmed by the factual circumstances of taking the decision to provide money. In a nutshell, on August 25, 2015, the Court adjudged Sentsov and Kolchenko guilty of committing crimes of the terrorist character. And on August 31, 2015, in the name of Khodorkovsky, it was announced about the premium money payments to the terrorists.

A latent form of terrorism and extremist glorification

The further destiny of the accused terrorists who were pardoned in 2019 (in connection with the swap of the detained and accused between Russia and Ukraine), the situation with the payment of money doesn’t play any role at all, as an act of pardon has nothing to do with rehabilitating circumstances.

The propensity of Khodorkovsky to financing radical organizations and mutual activity with them directed at destabilization of the situation in Russia was confirmed thereafter.

It manifested itself, for instance, in the financial backing of the entities of the financial trickster Alexey Navalny, whose Anti-Corruption Foundation has been recognized as foreign agent by the Ministry of Justice, and by the court as extremist organization.

The organization “Open Russia”, sponsored by Mikhail Khodorkovsky, has been found “undesirable organization”, as its activity “represents a threat to the foundation of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation and to the security of the state”.

And such proclivity of Khodorkovsky to financing the radicals should get a principal evaluation and “treatment”. As a matter of fact, it’s necessary for corresponding agencies to take decisions and to include a physical person, who is wanted by the authorities in connection with the murder, namely Mikhail Borisovich Khodorkovsky, born 1963, in the "black list" of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service. He, as we see, is inclined not only to tax evasion, embezzlement, and money laundering through offshores, but also to financing the radicals. The latter, so it seems, is a latent form of glorification of terrorism and extremism”, notes the website Prigivor.ru
